Kabataan ang Pag-asa ng Bayan
Every November, the
National Children's Month Act, or Republic Act 10661, is observed to mark the
20 November 1989 adoption of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the
Child. The CWC, National Youth Commission, and Department of Social Welfare Development
were chosen as the lead agencies for the celebration's organization in
accordance with section 3 of the statute.
The month-long
festival aims to raise awareness of children's rights in the Philippines and to
maintain that cause. Many nations around the world had already been celebrating
"Children's Day" before the Philippines began honoring National
Children's Month. It all started in June 1857 when Reverend Dr. Charles Leonard
led a special service for the kids. He first referred to it as "Rose
Day," then "Flower Sunday," and ultimately "Children's
Day."
The goal of National Children's Month is to assist children who have experienced abuse, hardship, natural disasters, and violence. In fact, the number of children who experienced abuse, poverty, natural disasters, and violence in 2013 alone was alarmingly high. In fact, the number of children who experienced sexual abuse and exploitation in 2013 alone was alarmingly high.
