A Unique Type of Love

To begin, I'd like to convey my love for you and wish you a happy Valentine's Day. I don't say "I love you" enough, and I don't want you to think that my love for you has changed as I've gotten older. I am aware of this. Through all of the heartbreaks, broken hearts, and tears I knew would always come to you, you have been there for me whenever I needed you. I also want to express my gratitude to you for bringing me into the world. I am aware that raising me wasn't easy, that there were good days and bad days, but your love has never wavered regardless of what happened. I am aware that no matter how old I get, you will always be my mentor and I will always be your baby. I would like you to be my Valentine, not just this Valentine's Day but for all time because of everything you've done. I will always have a special place in my heart for you, even if I fall in love with someone else. 

You'll always be my closest friend. I know it isn't enough to show you my love and gratitude, but I just want to give you this because you deserve it. In addition, when I was younger, you used to bandage my knees and comfort me when I had nightmares. I still remember that. I likewise need to offer my thanks to you for carrying me into the world. I'm mindful that raising me was difficult, that there were great days and terrible days, yet your affection has never faltered paying little heed to what occurred. I'm mindful that regardless of how old I get, you will constantly be my coach and I will continuously be your child. I would like you to be my Valentine, in addition to this Valentine's Day yet forever due to all that you've done.
